Step 1:
Understand customer requirements, analyze the given Software requirements specifications comprehensively and define the scope of testing. This includes identification of necessary tools, test plan document preparation, test cases and strategy generation and get ready with test data.
Step 2:
Create necessary infrastructure and environment for conduct of tests, analyze bugs generated, logically think of probable defect roots, and log the results.
Step 3:
Version control of the tests, results, logs, sharing with client, discuss through various existing media with client and go for next cycle of testing. It also includes test suite enhancement where ever found necessary. Finally it ends with defects classification and reporting test results analysis to customer.
Step 4:
If regression test is the goal; collect previous data and results from archrivals, perform the old as well the newly defined tests, ensure adherence and non conformances, look for corrective actions and discuss with customer on the fixes.
